During the Period of 01/10/2018 – 01/04/2019, I was fortunate enough to be employed as a field assistant with Dacian Gold. DG is a mid-tier gold producer that wholly owns the Jupiter and Westralia gold mines.
During my position as a field assistant in the exploration team, I have been able to:
- Gain an appreciation for drill core handling, processing, and procedure, including core marking, orientation, cutting, and sampling.
- Get fantastic, high-level exposure to how operations are run at advanced projects in WA.
- Develop a greater understanding of drilling methods, including their optimal uses and applications.
Importantly, I have also been provided the opportunity to improve my geological knowledge, including:
- Mineralisation and alteration styles in Archaean BIF-hosted orogenic gold deposits.
- Logging and data collection on RC rigs.
